As part of the CSUN
2008 23rd Annual International Technology & Persons with Disabilities Conference a panel called
Duelling Operating Systems took place on Friday March 14, 2008. The conference presentation id was BLV-1002.
In this session, a Linux, Macintosh, and Windows user complete identical tasks on their personal systems using available screen reader assistive technologies of their choice. DC Night Out is pleased to provide the audio from this CSUN conference session.
Subscribers to the DC Night Out blog and podcast automatically have received the sessions, and others may access the 1 hour and 52 minute MP3 file here.
This was the first Dueling Operating Systems presentation, and the organizers intend to repeat the session at conferences in the future. Please feel free to comment with your ideas, suggestions, or if you would be interested in participating in future Dueling Operating System events.

In this 40 minute podcast you hear from some regulars and less frequent attendees of the bi-weekly happy hour. A number of web links and news stories are described which will be added to this post as show notes. Users are also encouraged to join Twitter which is a leading social networking web 2.0 service. The site allows you to microblog, and send and receive messages from a web page, instant messaging application, SMS via cell phone, or (via a free third party tool) email. The service has a captcha, but you can email the CEO jack at twitter.com for help setting up an account. You can also help encourage Twitter to more quickly adopt audio captcha or some other nonvisual means for account verification.
